Dr. Epari is experienced in social science research. His core skills in research include questionnaire construction and design (in Microsoft Excel), recruitment and training of research assistants, data collection, entry (using Microsoft Access, Epi Info databases, and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets) cleaning, analysis (using STATA, SPSS and NVivo) and report writing and dissemination (including scientific publications). He is competent in strategic planning, impact evaluation studies, project evaluation, design and execution of surveys using both quantitative and qualitative paradigms. He is published in peer reviewed journals (a scholarly mark for quality outputs). He is a strong team player with skills in participatory decision-making and execution processes as evidenced in the numerous research projects he has worked on for various clients involving many researchers, research assistants and communities. The reports, findings and scientific publications from these studies have informed policy decisions by the clients and continue to inform debate and discourse internationally among researchers and scholars. Dr. Epari has strong analytical, report writing and presentation skills and is internet and computer literate, working with Ms Office, and statistical data management and analysis packages such as Epi Info, STATA, SPSS and Nvivo

Based in Nairobi, Kenya, Mike Wekesa has over 30 years of experience working across several African countries. For the past 16 years he has worked as a consultant providing services for a range of government, donor-funded bilateral Programmes and NGOs and has expertise in relation to livelihoods, food security, disaster risk reduction, natural resource management, agriculture, water and sanitation as well as social-economic empowerment strategies for the poor (livelihood security; rights; voice; disaster reduction; research and information). He has demonstrated management, organizational and administrative capabilities, able to work under high pressure and in demanding environments to deliver high quality results/ outcomes. Mike has significant knowledge and expertise in ASAL/cross-border development issues; pastoral and agro-pastoral livelihoods, institution and organization development, program design, management, monitoring and evaluation, fundraising, advocacy, communication, gender and development and related issues. He has worked on numerous programs for donors, UN agencies, governments, NGOS, Communities and traditional institutions in the ASALs. He is competent in policy analysis and research, formulation, implementation as well as pro-ASAL policy influencing. He is strong in documentation and dissemination of lessons learned and has particular knowledge in development issues affecting the ASALs in Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and Ethiopia, as well as in the Horn of Africa in general. Mike is well connected in government, donor and Civil Society Organizations, particularly in Uganda and in Kenya.

Dorine has over 3 years’ experience working as Finance and Administrative Officer. She has a good background in bookkeeping, QuickBooks, basic computer knowledge (Ms Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access, Publisher) and has years of experience in office administrative department. Currently, she is a Student of Business Administration at Kenya Institute of Management and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) holder. She has gained knowledge and experience in data entry using EpiInfo, STATA & SPSS softwares. She is responsible for all administrative tasks and for keeping company’s confidential information & documents.
